Panchakarma is a set of five therapies designed mainly for cleansing the body of toxins. Ayurveda considers that the purification of the body is important before the commencement of any other therapy.
Panchkarma Includes Following:-
Vaman (Vomiting):-
Vomiting, also known as emesis and throwing up, among other terms, is the involuntary, forceful expulsion of the contents of one’s stomach through the mouth.
Nasya (Nostril):-
either of two external openings of the nasal cavity in vertebrates that admit air to the lungs and smells to the olfactory nerves.
Snehn (Massage):-
Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure. Techniques are commonly applied using hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearm, feet, or a device. The purpose of massage is generally promoted as treatment for stress or pain.
Swedan (Sweating):-
Perspiration, also known as sweating, is the production of fluids secreted by the sweat glands in the skin of mammals.
Virechana (Anema):-
Virechana is the second procedure in the sequence of Panchakarma (Ayurveda Detoxification Program), mainly aimed at reducing Pitta Dosha and toxic accumulation in the GI tract, liver and gallbladder.
